In 2000, Ann decided to set her sights on the US. She moved to the big city (NYC), and quickly found a job that honored her certifications in her fields; She worked as a Reflexologist in one of New York’s most talked about salons. Ann then wanted to try out another facet of her multi-skilled holistic background and became a massage therapist in a Chiropractor’s office. Soon after, she took a trigger point workshop to improve on her massage therapy repertoire. In 2003, Ann decided to take the reigns and become self-employed, and she has been seeing private clients since then.
After an injury caused by strain and over-use, she was forced to restructure and reschedule her life accordingly. Ann began using weights and a new exercise routine to rehabilitate herself. As a result she gained experience first hand as a physical trainer for injuries. After molding a work-out program for herself, it struck her how important exercise and physical activity truly is to one’s over-all health. She then began to incorporate this idea into her teaching sessions, and in turn gained a new genre of clientele.
Her talent and passion for teaching was then made known to herself, and made apparent through the results she saw in the people she enjoyed helping. She continues to use various massage therapies, work out plans, and reflexology to improve and strengthen people both physically and mentally. Her clients value the personal connection and extra effort she puts into each session. Ann Marie Hennessy is the truest definition of a healer.
“I limit the amount of massages that I perform, to ensure that my clients get the best possible session” – Ann Marie Hennessy
