Sharon McDermott, M.S., L.Ac., is the owner of Healthy Healing, a caring & comprehensive approach to your health that specializes in women’s health, fertility, pain & stress reduction.

Sharon received a Master’s of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, magna cum laude. She received her Bachelor’s degree (BA) from Hunter College, magna cum laude. Sharon is board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbology and licensed in the State of New York.

Sharon offers an individualized approach to your health by providing acupuncture and herbal treatments tailored to your needs. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs provide a natural approach to healing, without the many side effects associated with Western medications.

Sharon has been in private practice for 8 years. She joined the New York Spine Institute in Westbury affiliated with the Hospital for Joint Diseases/NYU in 2009. In addition, she has worked in urban clinics and hospital settings at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, NYC, Grand Meridian Clinic, NYC and Pacific College Acupuncture Clinic, NYC. She has been an active member of the LIWA (Long Island Women’s Agenda) health committee for the past five years.

Sharon also enjoys speaking to the public about the benefits of Chinese Medicine. Sharon has spoken to various groups including a seminar at St. Francis Hospital for pain management, “Stress Management for Savvy Women” sponsored by LIWA, “Nourishing the Essence-Enhancing Fertility” for IBWC, “Pain Management Tips” for Arthritis Foundation fibromyalgia and arthritis groups; and LIJ/North Shore stroke support group.
