In 2008, Samantha was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis (IC), a.k.a Painful Bladder Syndrome, and mild Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). She was saddened by the fact that there was little hope for a cure. She simply would not accept that fate. She decided to change her diet and lifestyle in order to avoid a lifetime of potentially harmful and potent medications that would only treat her symptoms, but never cure the underlying root of her illness. She figured if IC was a lifestyle related illness, she could improve her condition by changing her lifestyle! She experimented with eliminating problematic foods, learned about the power of nutrition and, with the help of some alternative practitioners, slowly eliminated her pain and daily struggles with this debilitating chronic illness known as IC. She became passionate about educating others regarding the simple ways food and lifestyle can positively impact one’s health and quality of life.
